What's Important to Consider in My Genre?

I plan to use the genre of media to convey the message of why studying abroad makes you a good student and why you should study abroad. This message furthers the information of my paper by giving FSU students the chance to learn more about going abroad. In my paper, I just talk about why you become a better student, but on my Instagram, I will show everyone the benefits and fun facts to get their attention. In addition, this platform will allow me to communicate to college students quickly and effectively while they are relaxing. For the rhetorical appeals, I will be mostly using pathos to gather my audience. Pictures are any easy way to make someone feel ambitious or happy and I will use that to my advantage of educating students about studying abroad. The audience of this paper is different from those who read my paper because these are people who are definitely somewhat interested in studying abroad. One alternative genre I could replace it with is a flyer or a powerpoint. It is important to assemble your genres in a way that makes sense and compliments each other. For example, you may want to create an Instagram page before doing sidewalk chalk. You can use media as a way to educate the population and reach more people about your talk. For me, I will be creating a Instagram first and then putting a picture of the sidewalk that will have a date and time. The flyer will be also posted on me Instagram and on the wall at the Career Center!
