Sandra was working with a short story. She did a good job blending her stories and making it easy to connect with. Also, her dialogue was awesome; it was a powerful way to see each character. I loved the first scene because it reminded me of the times my brothers and I used to fight over the TV. I honestly think I could use her sentence structure because she has clear sentences, which I am trying to work on. I would stress explaining how the father leaves a little bit clearer. It suddenly happened and I was confused. Also, I feel like she could have a better title.
Emmanueile’s paper was also a short story. I loved how she incorporated her own personal experience growing up in the community center while also talking about being a camp counselor. I also like the line about how you have to impress the kids rather than the adults. I volunteered at Home for Little Wanderers. You really have to become friends with the kids otherwise they won’t respect you and you most likely won’t be coming back to volunteer. I want to stress organization. It was hard to follow the story because it was skipping around so much.
I really connected with both of these papers and am so excited to see what they turn out to be!
